Inizier\u00e0 per\u00f2 a soffrire di amnesie post-traumatiche e, nove mesi pi\u00f9 tardi, dopo aver prestato soccorso a una donna e a una bambina rimaste con l&#8217;auto in panne, verr\u00e0 trovato semi-incosciente sulle strade innevate del Vermont. Accanto a lui, una pistola e un agente di polizia ucciso. Considerato responsabile dell&#8217;omicidio, verr\u00e0 comunque ritenuto incapace di intendere e volere. Affidato alle cure di un manicomio criminale, Jack subir\u00e0 il mostruoso trattamento &#8220;terapeutico&#8221; del dottor Becker (Kris Kristofferson): riempito di sedativi, imbrigliato in una camicia di forza e infilato in un cassettone da obitorio, l&#8217;ex marine riuscir\u00e0 poco a poco a ricostruire il suo presente. Violento e serrato, esteticamente suggestivo, il lavoro di Maybury &#8211; seppur velatamente forzato in alcuni snodi della costruzione &#8211; riesce a ben condensare sgomento e consolazione, alternando alla crudelt\u00e0 di un presente senza speranze la prospettiva &#8211; quantomeno sognata &#8211; di un futuro pi\u00f9 roseo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">di Valerio
