{"id":22836,"date":"2004-03-07T15:01:26","date_gmt":"2004-03-07T14:01:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.reflections.it\/wordpress\/?p=22836"},"modified":"2025-12-29T10:13:44","modified_gmt":"2025-12-29T09:13:44","slug":"terra-di-confine-open-range","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reflections.it\/wordpress\/terra-di-confine-open-range\/","title":{"rendered":"Terra di confine (Open Range)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Capita a volte che un attore funzioni solo in un determinato genere, con alcune condizioni prestabilite e invariabili: \u00e8 il caso di Kevin Costner, artista discontinuo e ultimamente in declino, il quale ha raggiunto il suo maggior successo con il film\u00a0<em>Balla coi lupi<\/em>(1990), un western da lui diretto e interpretato, e che per il resto della sua carriera ha alternato buoni film (<em>Gli intoccabili<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Robin Hood: principe dei ladri<\/em>,\u00a0<em>J.F.K. &#8211; Un caso ancora aperto<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Un mondo perfetto<\/em>) a clamorosi flop commerciali (<em>Waterworld<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Le parole che non ti ho detto<\/em>,\u00a0<em>L&#8217;uomo del giorno dopo<\/em>). A circa 13 anni di distanza dal film pluripremiato agli Oscar, l&#8217;attore si ripropone in veste di regista e interprete di un&#8217;altra storia ambientata nell&#8217;Ovest americano, con cowboy e pistoleri come protagonisti. Lo sguardo di Kevin Costner si \u00e8 sempre posato sui risvolti pi\u00f9 umani, intimisti dell&#8217;epopea western. Egli preferisce sottolineare sfumature psicologiche e drammi interiori di eroi solitari e in cerca di verit\u00e0 e fortuna; cos\u00ec era per\u00a0<em>Balla coi lupi<\/em>, cos\u00ec \u00e8 per questo\u00a0<em>Terra di confine &#8211; Open Range<\/em>, ad esso legato in pi\u00f9 di un aspetto. Come regista Costner d\u00e0 grande importanza al paesaggio e al rapporto che l&#8217;uomo instaura con la natura. Numerose sono le sequenze in cui gli attori vengono ripresi in campo lungo immersi in praterie sconfinate o dal basso coi loro profili a cavallo che si stagliano su di un cielo azzurro e avvolgente. Uomini e animali lottano per la sopravvivenza contro intemperie di ogni tipo e qualsiasi equilibrio viene sconvolto nel momento in cui essi si trovano a contatto con la citt\u00e0, intesa come simbolo della malvagit\u00e0 e dell&#8217;invadenza umana. Gli eroi positivi della storia infatti sono dei mandriani nomadi che vivono in un completo isolamento e che, con la loro concezione di libert\u00e0 e non-violenza, si vanno a scontrare con l&#8217;ipocrisia e la barbarie dell&#8217;uomo cosiddetto &#8220;civilizzato&#8221;, cui unico scopo di vita sono l&#8217;arricchimento e la sopraffazione. Nonostante la drammaticit\u00e0 degli eventi narrati, non mancano momenti di ironia e rilassatezza, dovuti soprattutto alle battute pronunciate dal personaggio interpretato da Robert Duvall che, con la sua incredibile serenit\u00e0 interiore e la sua saggezza, si contrappone al tormentato e scontroso cowboy incarnato da Kevin Costner, un uomo dal passato misterioso e assai poco socievole. A farlo uscire dal proprio isolamento se ne occupa l&#8217;unica interprete femminile del film, la determinata Annette Bening, che si distingue in quanto una delle poche eroine mature con ruolo attivo presenti in tutto il genere western. Tra le sequenze da ricordare di sicuro la sparatoria finale, sconvolgente per crudezza e realismo e dal ritmo incalzante. Peccato che a rovinare la bellezza dell&#8217;opera ci sia un finale scontato e tirato per le lunghe, intriso di un eccessivo romanticismo che stona con il resto del film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
