Forse, il quasi flop al botteghino del suo precedente lungometraggio,\u00a0<em>Spider<\/em>, uno dei suoi film pi\u00f9 belli con\u00a0<em>Inseparabili<\/em>, lo ha convinto che era meglio rimescolare i suoi temi di sempre con un marcato senso dell&#8217;entertainment.\u00a0<em>A History of Violence<\/em>, in effetti, pu\u00f2 essere apprezzato anche dall&#8217;utente cinematografico che non conosce le precedenti opere del regista, come un thriller ben interpretato, incalzante, con risvolti da cartoon e sopra le righe (tratto dal romanzo a fumetti di John Wagner e Vince Locke). Gli esegeti e gli appassionati, invece, possono tuffarsi appieno nelle contraddizioni e nello spirito dualistico di un artista che sa utilizzare le sue ossessioni in modo cos\u00ec conforme allo spirito di un&#8217;epoca e di un paese. La vivisezione di una famiglia dell&#8217;America rurale, l&#8217;esplosione di violenze assopite e il disvelamento di vecchie identit\u00e0 paterne e di nuovi comportamenti filiali sono messi in scena con un notevole senso del ritmo. Niente tempi morti, la coazione a ripetere e lo choc coniugale che si riverbera nei rapporti affettivi e sessuali avvengono all&#8217;interno di uno spietato meccanismo di precisione narrativo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I rimandi e le metafore soggiacenti sono interpretazioni un filino oziose solo per gli accaniti &#8220;cronenberghiani&#8221;, che non possono non accorgersi che l&#8217;autore sia in una fase di stallo, costretto a rispondere al supposto scandalo suscitato alla prima del film sulla Croisette con verosimili dichiarazioni di natura morale o politica (il governo Bush, la facilit\u00e0 di disporre di armi domestiche negli States, l&#8217;inferno e le menzogne familiari, il privato contro l&#8217;ostilit\u00e0 di un mondo dominato da affari sporchi e poteri imperscrutabili). In buona sostanza, il finale di questa epopea pop si deve leggerlo senza costrizioni di sorta: persone nuove mangiano al desco comune, la vita quotidiana prevarr\u00e0 per ora, ma non \u00e8 detto che il signor Stall rinunci all&#8217;adrenalina di una verit\u00e0 condivisa dalla moglie e dai figli. Dopo novantasei minuti lo sdoppiamento dell&#8217;uomo \u00e8 cessato, dopo una parentesi pulp e iperrealista, dove giganteggia un torvo e cinico William Hurt. La famiglia \u00e8 salva o meglio lo \u00e8 mai veramente stata? E Cronenberg si concede il suo film pi\u00f9 godibile, fruibile senza tentennamenti o attimi di noia, visivamente splendido, complesso ma al contempo di grande appeal.
