Sembra uno spot per l&#8217;esordio cinematografico dei Massive Attack, trip-hop-band di Bristol autrice della colonna sonora del film, invece \u00e8 la trama della terza regia di Louis Leterrier (<em>The Transporter<\/em>), nata dalla penna di Luc Besson. Danny (Jet Li) ha 30 anni, ma da quando ne aveva 4 vive come un cane, costretto a vivere sotto il letto del suo padrone (Bob Hoskins) e liberato solo quando c&#8217;\u00e8 da &#8220;mordere&#8221; qualcuno. Il giorno che il suo tutore ha un incidente stradale, Danny si trova solo e sperduto nel mondo esterno, e incontra l&#8217;accordatore di pianoforti cieco Sam (Morgan Freeman) che se lo porta a casa. A Luc Besson va il merito di aver creato un diversivo alle scene di lotta e una vicenda umana abbastanza articolata da potersi avvalere del talento di Morgan Freeman, a Leterrier quello di aver messo in pista una macchina da corsa dotata della musica dei Massive Attack come carburante, di Jet Li come motore e delle ricercate coreografie marziali, come raffinati interni. Ripensando alle sequenze di\u00a0<em>The Transporter<\/em>\u00a0in cui l&#8217;atletico Jason Statham si batte su un terreno ricoperto d&#8217;olio dando vita a coreografie circensi, qui Jet Li non \u00e8 da meno, superandosi con una sequenza di lotta girata in un bagno pubblico, in uno spazio di un metro e mezzo.
