{"id":13619,"date":"2005-08-06T20:58:31","date_gmt":"2005-08-06T18:58:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.reflections.it\/wordpress\/?p=13619"},"modified":"2025-11-23T15:05:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-23T14:05:06","slug":"alone-in-the-dark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reflections.it\/wordpress\/alone-in-the-dark\/","title":{"rendered":"Alone in the Dark"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Da quello che sta diventando lo specialista delle trasposizioni cinematografiche di videogiochi, il quarantenne regista tedesco Uwe Boll, ecco un altro pasticciaccio estivo, dopo il recente&nbsp;<em>House of the Dead,&nbsp;<\/em>che prometteva scintille ma che non riesce nemmeno a illuminare l&#8217;ambiente. In&nbsp;<em>HOTD<\/em>&nbsp;la trama era terribilmente lineare, un viaggio verso un&#8217;isola misteriosa, qualche momento di introduzione e poi gi\u00f9 botte&#8230; Qui i momenti di azione sono intervallati da fiacchi tentativi di trama, dove non bastano due bravi attori come Christian Slater e Tara Reid a risollevare le sorti di un plot che non c&#8217;\u00e8. Ma vediamo di capirci qualcosa: nel 1967 alcuni minatori scoprono i resti di un popolo precolombiano noto come Abkani, i quali, diecimila anni fa, aprirono un passaggio tra il mondo della luce e quello delle ombre, un gesto che ne compromise la stessa sopravvivenza. Oggi qualcuno sta tentando di riaprire quel passaggio e il nostro detective Edward Carnby (Slater) avr\u00e0 il compito di metterci una &#8220;toppa&#8221;. Con l&#8217;aiuto dell&#8217;affascinante Aline Cedrac (T. Reid), Carnby cercher\u00e0 di scoprire qualcosa di pi\u00f9 sulla misteriosa civilt\u00e0 degli Abkani e sul suo passato, altrettanto ricco di mistero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Boll vorremmo dire che in un videogame, ancor di pi\u00f9 in uno sparatutto in soggettiva, lo spessore dei personaggi non ha poi una grande importanza; in un film s\u00ec. Lo spettatore non ha l&#8217;interattivit\u00e0 di un videogiocatore dunque il suo divertimento sta nel coinvolgimento all&#8217;interno di un plot (che dovrebbe essere) ben congegnato.\u00a0<em>Alone in the Dark<\/em>\u00a0si spinge invece al paradosso, in modo piuttosto inconcludente e a tratti fuorviante (come il testo di introduzione del film), utilizzando creature alla\u00a0<em>Alien<\/em>\u00a0in un contesto misto tra\u00a0<em>Highlander<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Blade<\/em>\u00a0e\u00a0<em>Zombi<\/em>. Qualche scena di combattimento, la prima in particolare tra Slater e una specie di &#8220;terminator&#8221;, \u00e8 di buona fattura, ma il resto \u00e8 trascurabile, come le creature simil-Alien create dalla Toybox (societ\u00e0 di effetti visivi presente in un altro &#8220;filmone&#8221; come\u00a0<em>The Mask 2<\/em>) o la scena in cui le &#8220;starship troopers&#8221; di Slater faranno il loro primo incontro con le stesse creature.\u00a0<em>Alone in the Dark<\/em>\u00a0resta quindi un prodotto limitato da molti punti di vista, consigliabile solo in home-video per una serata tra amici,
